Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Alex M — 12 Sep 2011
A no frills underdog story that pits two grown men against each other in a battle to get the top score in the classic arcade game, Donkey Kong. Entertaining for game nerds in particular, and a story that shows how everybody wants to be the king of the hill in something.
The directing and editing paints a hero/villain dynamic that gives the film more gravitas than it probably deserves. In the end, the only thing that matters is that it works.
