Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Ian C — 12 Apr 2013
Fascinating documentary about a school teacher trying to break the twenty year record score on the 1980's classic arcade game 'Donkey Kong'. Along the way he finds it impossible to get accepted into this this world.
The record holder Billy Mitchell comes across as a complete and utter cunt, with a face you would never get tired pissing on. Mitchell's worshippers do the retro gaming world no favours by living up to every sterotype associated with nerds.
Some of the antics of Mitchell and his entourage would not look out of place in a Will Ferrell comedy or episode of the Big Bang Theory.
