Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Richard P — 24 Nov 2007
After 'Casino', this is Scorsese and De Niro's most impressive collaboration: a creepy, disturbing but sometimes hilarious dissection of how the ordinary are elevated to stardom. The section in which Pupkin gatecrashes his idol's house with his 'Queen' Rita, must be one of the most uncomfortable scenes in cinema.
And the film's ending is incredible!
