Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Alan D — 23 Mar 2008
A truly bizzar, unique and in a way sort of insperational film.the charicter of rupert pupkin is so brilliant played by robert de niro. and jerry lewis is awsome too. what strikes me about the film is how its so unlike any other scorsaise film and any other role de niro has played.
a great soundtrack and excelent suporting cast, the king of comedy is somtimes an overlooked piece of briliant black comedy cinema. as with scorsaises other masterpiece (after hours) it manages too paint a grim never the less enjoyable portrait of 1980's new york city.
