Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Juha R — 21 May 2008
I always remember liking this movie alot, but after watching it again recently, there's alot to love here for me. De Niro's performance just another affirmation of his talents in versitility and fearlessness as an actor who has no problem taking roles that play against the the image the public eye may hold for him. Scorsese's the best, and does wonders with this movie. On one hand.
I can see why it bombed when it came out and can see people hating it, but the story, the acting, the direction, the script, all top notch in my opinion. It's a wholly original movie and alot different from other Scorsese flicks, but everyone involved pulls it off nicely. No complaints here whatsoever.
