Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Joel E — 11 Aug 2009
I'm not really a fan of Deniro when he does comedy it always seems a little forced, having said that he was great in Midnight Run (albeit with the straight man role) and is very good here too. Of course with Scorcese directing it's a comedy really in name only and theres a very dark disturbing undercurrent.
Sandra Bernhard almost steals the film from Deniro, theres a phrase I never thought I'd say.
