Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Ross B — 08 Jun 2010
Another classic Scorsese film that is a brilliant satire on our current celebrity obsessed culture. Robert De Niro and Sandra Bernhard are absolutely insane in this movie as obsessive fans of Jerry Lewis' talk show host.
Jerry Lewis himself is also great as a Johnny Carson like late night talk show host who is unfortunately stuck in this craziness. It really makes you worry about how scary some fans are in this current world with TMZ and others.
Just an absolutely amazing movie.
