Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by John M — 27 Aug 2010
One of Scorsese's overlooked films. Deniro plays a more comic character and pulls it off so well. You really sympathise with his character, especially when he finally performs his stand up comedy routine as that is the part of the film where you get further insight into his past.
Sandra Bernhard is also very good as Deniro's even more obsessive accomplice. She gets one of the most memorable, cringe inducing scenes in the whole movie.
