Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Michael S — 16 Jul 2012
Wow, what an underated movie. Yeah this films not perfect, and for a critics structural outline I can see why they wouldn't praise it. But come to the crunch, that doesn't matter. This movie is very enjoyable, the ending surprised me and left a big smile on my face.
Another dialogue based Scorsese movie play where De Niro is excellent as a believable and haunting layered character and surprisingly Jerry Lewis nearly out does De Niro as the quietly angry Comedian (himself).
