Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Sidney S — 22 Apr 2013
It may not be a 5 star Scorsese flick, but it is a very strong 4 star Scorsese flick, which is dark, satirical, comedic and very entertaining. Another amazing partnership between DeNiro and Scorsese. Jerry Lewis also delivers a knockout performance, as well as the rest of the supporting cast.
Scorsese proves in this film he is able to work and adapt in any genre, as this film is a combination of so many genres, and touches on almost everything in Scorsese. His eye for talent, his wit and his ability to tell a story in a unique and captivating way.
It ends with on a high note, in a very unpredictable way. A great addition to your Scorsese collection.
