Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Gary B — 20 Mar 2014
While I appreciate a ton of Scorsese's work there are a handful of his films that I truly dislike, King of Comedy joins the rank of Gangs of New York as my least favorite. With a De Palma like style the film was more annoying than entertaining, especially Rupert's Dancer in the Dark like dreaming.
With a title that has comedy in it I expected more laughs, while all I got was a few good one liners and a couple nice gags. Despite the frustration of watching the ending is quite effective, and leaves the movie with a charming note.
