Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Gavin M — 24 Jan 2015
Good Scorsese flick. Robert Deniro gives a very well performance as Rupert Pumpkin, a wannabe comedian who stalks a Johnny Carson like character named Jerry Langford played by Jerry Lewis. Watching DeNiro in this movie just makes me realize why DeNiro will always be my favorite actor.
I love Nicholson, Walken, Hoffman, Pacino, Tommy Lee Jones, they will always be my favorites as well, but there's just something about DeNiro that just makes me love the guy. This was Scorsese and DeNiro's 5th collaboration together making it a total of 8 films they have done together.
"Casino" was their last collaboration together, but I would like to see them do at least one more movie together before there time in Hollywood is over as I truly believe they are the best actor and director team that has ever lived.
