Review of The King and I (1956) by Kaity J — 22 Dec 2008
So good. I'm obsessed with Rodgers and Hammerstein and this didn't let me down at all. It was romantic without being all in-your-face about it like musicals, or just movies in general from this period are.
Deborah Kerr's character made me happy. It was strange hearing Yul Brynner sing, but he's attractive enough for me to ignore it :).
