Superb. If you want to see movies that take you somewhere you've been before, go watch the movies you already like. If you don't want to be challenged, dig your own sensory grave already. The fact that this Movie has bombastic negative reviews is more testamentary to its excellence than those reviews containing effusive praise.

Let go of your assumptions, let go of your judgments, let go of your preconceived notions of what horror is, what "good acting" requires, what good films require, what "good storytelling" requires and watch the film.

Let it hit you. You're setting down to see it, aren't you? Then, let your senses and your emotions be vulnerable to this movie. These are not bad performances. They are made by world-class actors who are passionate about their art.

This is not a bad effort by the director. He is at the top of his game and has been refining his singular vision for years. You have not seen anything close to this . You are seeing a new movie not to slot it predictably into your mental catalogue of what you already know you know, but to see something new.

Let it arrest you. Let it blow up one of your mental walls. Let it prove you don't know everything and that what you were so sure of is now uncertain. Finally, a movie is good enough to do that. Don't be the putz who isn't keen enough to understand what he or she is seeing.
