Review of The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) by Christian Dannie S — 12 Nov 2017
While the cinematography and acting is mostly on spot, this hollow rethreading of Greek tragedies adds nothing new to the formula, apart from misguided attempts at symbolism that ultimately lead to nowhere other than faint reflections on the director's previous films.
The final result is a paper thin story, awkward and uneven performances without logic to them and a final "shocker" that ultimately makes the entire film pointless.
