Classic style from the still fresh director Yorgos Lanthimos. He has treated us with many a weird piece lately, this one is in the same matter.

Some surgeon is welcoming a teenage boy into his life and his family. He is likeble, but weird - just like everyone in this film. After a while things start to happen with our surgeon's kids and wife. They get sick and can't move. It turns out that the new friend has something to do with it.

Great cast in this film. Colin Farrell is becoming a go-to-guy for Yorgos. Kidman is not so often seen these days but she's here. She stays in incredible shape by the way.

Way cool story, naturally super original. It looks sweet with the camerawork, scenery, locations, interior but it also feels a bit long. There is few huge scenes for me here, so I was not too impressed. Not ugly, not scary, not thrilling - flat in total.

His poorest effort for me, but I guess I will continue to see his films as they always are interesting. Hopefully he will do something different next time as the weird way of speaking and conversing is a hit for me, but it's done too many times by this director now.

6 out of 10 depth resistance meters.
