Review of The Killing Fields (1984) by Rob T — 20 May 2008
Long, confusing, rambling narrative that fails to adequately portray the true horror of the killing fields. Haing Ngor is the stand out performance of the movie and deservedly won an Oscar, but with the exception of the mass grave scene there is little to express what should have been expressed.
Sam Waterstone is unbearable and the film badly needs subtitles. Hugely overrated.
