Review of The Killing Fields (1984) by Steve B — 16 Sep 2017
If there is a movie that can take you to a time when the world was sooo much different than it is today allthough the yanks are re-doing vietnam in Iraq today. this film shows one mans journey into hell because he makes choices that he believes will bring to the front the problems a society will have when taken over by another.
Dith Prawn goes through a re-education that shows us the resiliance one man can have to overcome ,adapt and live. I think this is the best portrayal of what a human being can overcome in times of darkness.
The best part of the movie and in my opioion the best use of music in any movie I have ever seen in my life is at the end. John Lennon in my opinion is more than a working class hero. He helped shape our minds to realize one mans suffering leads to some sort of redemption.
It may go a little slow for those who were not around when vietnam was part of the t.v.tray in the living room generation but I swear to you if you have any patience you will see a movie play out in front of you that will inspire you.
It will make you realize that life is worth sooo much. If you have that will to live under any circumstance. You know in the end you will be vindicated and surrounded by those you have committed yourself too.
.. after watching this movie I do suggest smoke a fatty and watch Shawshank Redemption it will show you how far someone will go to prove how much the human spirit will endure for freedom.
