Review of The Killing (1956) by Curtis H — 26 Dec 2011
Badass heist flick that builds tension by showing us every part of the job. Kubrick's direction is crisp and clear, and Thompson's dialog is a prime example of the kind of gritty screenwriting that only 50s noirs could get away with.
The entire cast is wonderful, though Sterling Hayden makes a fine lead. His final look of abject disappointment and resignation is perfect.
