Review of The Killing (1956) by James P — 18 Jan 2008
I never even herd of this movie until it came TCM and I caught it by chance; and boy am I ever glad I did!
I always considered myself a pretty hardcore Kubrick fan, so I was ashamed of not having herd of this one...
Well, I love the "dated" dialog, the non-sequential plot, that classic noir feeling... and at the end of the day, it is yet another movie that has made me lose a little more respect for Tarantino (wake up people, not much he does is original or very inspired!).
The Killing is a must see for any Kubrick fan, but be warned, it is more like a Humphrey Bogart noir of that time, than anything else that Kubrick did.
