Review of The Killing (1956) by Clint E — 06 Jul 2008
A tightly woven tale about a horse track heist and the characters and players involved. Being one of Kubrick's first films, you can see the lack of risk he takes, but you can also see the beautiful and almost perfect emulation of 30's and 40's noir/heist movies.
The use of non-linear storytelling brings the story forward in a way that for the time, must have been quite a leap. Good flick.
