Review of The Killing (1956) by Joanna N — 07 Sep 2008
This early Kubric is an original take on the heist flick with a bit of noir thrown in for good measure. Despite its low budget and b-grade cast, I don't think this film has dated and it still stands as one of the great examples of a non-linear structure.
I like to watch it back to back with Reservoire Dogs. This is not an approach for the faint hearted but they are a masterful compliment to each other.
