Review of The Killing (1956) by Al M — 28 Aug 2011
"Eh, what's the difference?".
Stanley Kubrick puts in a master class of noire filmaking and one of the smoothest heist capers ever to be committed to film. The way the story is told and how the job is pulled off clearly influenced films like Reservoir Dogs and The Dark Knight. This film is years ahead when it was made. It's amazing I never even heard about this film until now since it clearly influenced many directors. It also has one of the best end lines in movies.
