Review of The Killing (1956) by Jacob G — 26 Oct 2011
Only his third film, and done on an extremely low budget, Kubrick's noir is still one of the best heist films ever made. The use of non-linear storytelling, accounting for each character's role in the heist is an ingenius way of showing the audience exactly how and why everything was planned the way it was.
And that magnificent airport ending is one that stays with you, similar to "The Bullet Train", you kinda want the bad guy to get away with it in the end... as awful as that sounds.
