The Killing is a brilliant example of what Kubrick was going to bring to the screen. It is a movie that creates a perfect balance between suspense and pay-off. The dialogue is impressive and several scenes are played out so perfectly, it is no wonder Tarantino was influenced by this film on his later projects.
It somewhat seems the father of all heist movies.
