Review of The Killing (1956) by Nathaniel B — 26 Apr 2012
This is now the earliest Kubrick film that I have seen and it is testament to the man that none of his subsequent films really felt like this, in fact he may well be the most versatile director in terms of genre and style.
The Killing really comes into its own in the final third, a stylish and unpredictable crime caper which run time lasts only marginally longer than 80 minutes but is wastes very little of it.
