Review of The Killing (1956) by Curtis R — 21 Sep 2010
Stanley Kubrick's early crime thrilling masterpiece actually set in real time and filmed and retold from the perspective of the characters involved. The film centers around a group of very different individuals all with a special talent who band together, plot out, and execute a well orchestrated robbery of a racetrack.
Sterling Hayden plays Johnny Clay the leader of the group, Timothy Carey plays the puppy loving sociopathic hitman Nikki Arane, and Elisha Cook Jr. plays the nervous milquetoast and weak link of the group George Peatty.
A very entertaining film noir classic.
