Review of The Killing (1956) by Zac L — 06 Aug 2010
The Killing is certainly an interesting movie. The acting is very good, with Elisha Cook Jr. and Sterling Hayden standing out. The story is interesting, making a standard robbery interesting through it's multiple story-line's converging into one. And the non-chronological way Stanley Kubrick tells the story keeps is very unique.
The biggest problem with this movie is that it it's hard to stay interested. The story can drag, especially when there are large chucks of dialogue dedicated to explaining what is going on, or going to happen.
Still, The Killing is interesting, entertaining, and overall fun to watch.
