Review of The Killing (1956) by Vijay S — 09 Jun 2011
This is among Kubrick's greatest work ever. Everything is there that is needed to make an amazing heist movie. Everything from the smoothest track shots you have ever seen, from the brilliantly placed voice-overs, and the original script make it among the best heist films.
It starts off a little confusing in the sense that you think that some parts were unnecessary to the story, but after a while, you fade back in the planning and you are totally engaged. Kubrick established himself as one of the best up-and-coming directors after this masterpiece, and showed some signs of future trademarks like the fluidity of track shots.
This one classic that will not make you bored and all should watch for some good entertainment.
