Review of The Killer Shrews (1959) by James B — 03 Nov 2008
A poorly acted movie whose only redeeming qualities were the humorous dog costumes and the barrel tank at the movie's end. If one wants to discuss the underlying impressions, I was surprised how angry and vicious this film was, with underlying racist and homophobic tones, and a general nihilistic sense to the actions of the characters.
It is interesting that this was directed by the same person who made The Giant Gila Monster, which has a much greater sense of family connection and friendship to its plot. I was less than impressed with this film.
