Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Neal M — 26 Nov 2010
Years ago I read Jim Thompson's "The Killer Inside Me" and thought it one of the best noir novels ever written. The movie is a relatively faithful adaptation, chronicling Lou Ford's (Casey Affleck) descent from small town sheriff (almost Andy Griffith in temperment) to raging sociopath. Affleck is at his best (really, he is the brother with the talent) and all in all a faithful homage to the novel.
Word of warning: The Killer Inside Me is graphic in its violence...several scenes are hard to stomach due to their realism. If you can get past that, the movie is worth a watch.
