Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Sinem S — 19 Feb 2011
I was intrigued with this film because of the brutality of it. The film showcased a side of people the most viewers don't get to see portrayed very often. The lack of emotion that Affleck's character showed throughout the film just went to show what a true sociopath Lou Ford was.
Amy Stanton, a women who was so desperate to find love and stability, that she unknowingly settled for a killer was the best acting from Hudson that I've seen. Jessica Alba's depiction of a prostitute who "like it rough" seemed to fall true to someone who had lived with abuse their whole life and kept coming back for more.
Although the thought of someone still loving a person who could bash their face in and leave them for dead is almost unimaginable, the fact is that it is a realistic representation of abusive relationships.
John Curran did an admirable job of adapting the story, and the film's director, Michael Winterbottom did an utmost job.
