Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Kyle A — 12 Nov 2011
I respected the way "The Killer Inside Me" portrayed violence. I absolutely hated every minute of violent content on screen, as it's very unnerving to watch, which is exactly how violence should be portrayed.
With that being said, there is nothing else about this movie worth feeling anything for. I didn't 'get' what was going on, and Casey Affleck's Lou Ford is a character that makes next to no sense.
Winterbottom tries to show us motivation through flashbacks, but they're haphazardly formed and relatively stupid. We see enough of Alba's and Hudson's skin to understand why any man would be attracted to them, and so their viciously conceived murders become puzzling when we know the man committing them is as attracted to them as we (well.
.. dudes) are.
