Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Steven C — 06 Apr 2012
I have to say I really enjoyed Michael Winterbottom's "The Killer Inside Me" for it's gleeful finesse for portraying the demented. This film is many things and it works effectively as a distressing portrait of a sociopath and one of the most disturbing love stories ever told.
The violence in the film certainly lives up to the hype as do the performances by Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson- unusual choices for sure, but end up being gritty and compelling and effective (the same can be said for the sex and violence).
This is a film that only a very small fraction of audiences will take too, and I guess I am apart of that because I was riveted and fascinated by this intense and peculiar character study.
