Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Gary M — 29 May 2012
A very good, not great, moody "modern noir" movie. I say "modern" because the tone -- and the much-remarked violence level -- are definitely not 1940s style. The performances and all the elements are solid.
Some might not like that the plot isn't "spelled out"...there are actions, motivations that aren't fully defined, but it's not really confusing. I was interested in this because of Casey Affleck and his excellence in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford", and he delivered in this as well.
It's not nearly as good as that, but it's basically worthwhile. But you have to like "noir", and not be offended by the bleakness and the graphic violence.
