Very dark and slightly disturbing. Casey Affleck has got the market cornered in terms of playing cold, disturbed psychopaths, but the general feeling of coldness and lack of emotion displayed by nearly all the characters in the film makes it hard to really connect to what should be an even more disturbing storyline.
