'The Kids Are All Right' is definitely the most original film of the year in my opinion. I guess when you realize your sperm donor is trying to become part of your family you can only express your true feelings.
Overall the movie sends a message of realizing who you are and what you want in life and that's always a plus. But if you plan on watching the film, just be aware of all the craziness that you'll witness.
But still, a very funny film and I think people of all sexualities would like it as well.
