Review of The Kids Are All Right (2010) by Rai R — 10 Jul 2012
A good movie that is a bit over-hyped. The premise is certainy interesting. The acting performances are superb. The movie also has some laughs (although a disproportionate share of them is in the trailer) and really well-acted awkward moments.
It's just that once you get beyond the fact that lesbian couples are not different from heterosexual couples and have the same problems with work, kids, and marriage (assuming you didn't know that already), the movie suddenly turns quite conventional and average.
It's still worth seing, though. Just don't expect too much.
