Review of The Kids Are All Right (2010) by Mark K — 26 Sep 2012
Again, no surprise here, yet very well done. I think the surprise lies in how engaging and all-round superb the film still is, despite the fact that you can guess the outcome within the first 15minutes.
Relies heavily on the performances by Bening & Moore - both stellar I might add - and Mark Ruffalo is just detached enough from the film to not crowd it. He is also, albeit good at what he does, outplayed by Bening & Moore - a breath of fresh air inbetween all of the 'great' actors taking the lead in Hollywood big-budgets.
Worth a watch, if not for the two leading ladies, then for the great script and the proof that there is life to be found despite being dysfunctional.
