Review of The Kids Are All Right (2010) by Peter W — 27 Oct 2012
I like how in the most recent film era these very personal films are so very creative and appealing. Films like Sideways, About Schmidt or Crazy Heart all have in common that it overwhelms - in the very essence of the word.
Watching it, my body utters emotions, accompanying the film in its characters story throughout the film, ending with, in this case, a lovely kind of happiness (or satisfaction, maybe more). For a film to make your soul dance like that, you need some great talented choreographers and teachers.
This film has that, with in particular a integer playing Benning and Hutcherson, a very truthful Ruffalo and Moore. A great woo-hoo, too, to Cholodenko and Blumberg.
