Review of The Kid with a Bike (2011) by John S — 27 Mar 2012
Normally the kind of film I lap up. The kid with a bike is a short peek into the life of a young delinquent who is desperate to hook up with his missing Father again.
He lives in a centre with other orphans and makes friends with Samantha, a local woman who starts to take care of him over the weekend.
Things go wrong when a local dealer engages him and gets him to beat up a newspaper agent for cash.
I must admit I expected better. I never liked the kid from the start, maybe Im not supposed to, but his manner was unpleasant. Further there are a couple of scenes in the film that are stretching credibility, but then again its only a film.
Im not sure I have a whole lot else to say about this film. Its simple, short and utterly forgettable.
But not crap.
