The Kid Who Would Be King is a young adult film with many appreciable qualities: quirky and lovable characters, a fresh take on the classic Arthurian legend, impressive effects, and most of all, a tale for kids that doesn't talk down to anyone, but instead levels with the current generation and what they can hope to tackle in this turbulent world they're inhabiting.
The team behind this movie wasn't afraid to tell a sweet, whole-hearted story, and that's the main appeal here.
