Theres something really likeable about the kid, its a gritty story told in a stylish way, nick moran certainly shows to be aproduct of the guy ritchie directing influence after starring himself the brilliant lock stock and two smoking barrells.

its a heart string tugger and whilst more experienced directors mite have taken some scenes closer to the cutting room floor and not left some scenes as long winded as they are it is ultimatly well told if a little off paced at times.

it could do with a little more comic interjection to help lighten the mood of an often depressing storyline but there are brief moments. Its uplifting by the end of it all and whilst it probably wont be the next billy elliot british smash hit it certainly still packs a punch and makes an intresting comment on making the best of the cards your dealt in life.
