Good surreal movie which could be so much better had Paramount Producers decided to butcher the running length. Therefore its messed up due to their wonderful decision. The acting is pretty good especially Gabriel Byrne as the SS Major.
Throughtout the film its possible to see some of the visuals and cinematograph Michael Mann has used in his later films and how he builds up suspense and tension.Would be great to see a fully restored edition come out on dvd.
However that looks unlikely as there was talk of a dvd release in 2004 but still no sign.
