Review of The Karate Killers (1967) by David G — 17 Mar 2009
Also known as "The Five Daughters Affair" parts one and two, this sees the U.N.C.L.E. agents Napolean Solo (Robert Vaughn) and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum) on a global quest to stop a THRUSH agent - guest star Herbert Lom - from gaining a formula to extract gold from seawater.
Memorable for it's portrayal of Swinging London featuring both Terry-Thomas and Jill Ireland, the opening sequence is also fun as a squadron of THRUSH gyrocopters ambush the agents on a lonely mountain highway.
Features two future James Bond heavies with Curd Jurgens and Telly Savalas joining Joan Crawford on the guestlist.
