Review of The Karate Kid Part III (1989) by Artemis D — 01 Jun 2018
It's schlock and a money-grab based on the franchise, for all the reasons other reviewers say. I just wanna mention how horrible Macchio looks in this thing; he's got a gut, almost a double chin, and bags under his eyes.
I know he was 27 or whatever, but I saw him in Cobra Kai, filmed just last year, and he looks heaps better; it's like they didn't even ask him to work out and eat right before reprising this tired role i.
E. they didn't care. I also want to comment on the praise of Thomas Ian Griffith, as pretty much everybody says the movie sucks, but he's great. Well, he's not. His acting is corny in a "hide my face in embarrassment" way, not a "funny one dimensional 80s villain" way.
Nothing makes sense in this movie, even the idea of it being a movie. Watch Part I, and maybe Part II if you need something to help you nod off on a Sunday night. Only watch this if you want to have something in the background playing when somebody you don't like comes over.
