A tremendous follow up, full of culture and emotion. The perfect sequel.

They even managed to step up the soundtrack with the incredibly talented and award winning Peter Cetera singing "For the Glory of Love".

It also offers plenty of backstory to fan favorite Mr.Myagi.

A beautiful movie, that strengths the bond between student and teacher.

The movie is set in the birthplace of Karate , Okinawa, the home of Mr Myagi.

Here Daniel discovers the rich heritage and traditions of the East, and takes part in them first hand.

This time Daniel learns the secret of Myagi Karate, "the Drum technique" which replaces the crane kick from the previous film as Daniel's finishing blow, although it lacks the visual impact of the kick, it still manages to create a memorable sign off, to Daniel's final confrontation.

I dont know why some have reffered to this as "dark" its hardly dark.

I think peoples biggest complaint was the language barrier and translation isues. For instance why are all the Okinawa people speaking english to each other, yet when speaking to Daniel it sounds like their struggling for words.

Other than that I think alot of the criticism is misdirected.

It makes a major statement about holding a grudge and all its foolishness, when compared to the precious nature of life.

A Very powerful and spirited film about love and honor.
