Review of The Karate Kid (2010) by Daniel D — 18 Aug 2012
For what it's worth, this actually wasn't too bad. It had none of the nostalgia or soul of the original, but Jackie Chan's presence more than made up for it. Jaden Smith wasn't terrible either I guess.
You can't help but think it would have played out a fraction better if the kids fighting each other weren't twelve years old, that stuck in my craw a little. Otherwise, the training sequences were good and the chemistry between the leads was nice.
Watch it once, then go back and revisit the original and its sequel.
