Review of The Karate Kid (2010) by Grant K — 19 Apr 2013

This isn't a remake, which is good. BUT they could have come up with a name not already used, especially on a well known movie. That way people wouldn't be discouraged in seeing it, because they would just be assuming it's a remake of something that needs no remaking.

I'll see it, but they really should clarify that it's not a remake and that the title came from one scene in the movie. The kid was nicknamed the karate kid by Chinese kids fighting him because he learned it in America and probably used the name as an insult because karate is Japanese and kung-fu is Chinese.

He learns kung-fu in the movie. Now why did I have to go to an IMDB board to find that out? Sigh...
