Spoiler, there is no karate. The Karate Kid remake took a revisionist approach by bringing the characters to China, with Jackie Chan as the master this time (and a unemphatic back story). The plot and dialogues are as ridiculous as you might have expected, but it was not too bad for a propaganda film.
